Wow, I am impressed! This is so awesome, greatest $50 I have spent for my Dreamcast for the SD Adapter and the 32GB card!

I have tested Gigawing and it works PERFECTLY 100% music and all with it!

I still can't figure out what I am doing wrong in DCPlaya, becuase I put my music in and Dreamshell sees the files, but DCPlaya will just not browse my SD card, and I know it is working cause when I press SD, it lights up but that is all it does.

I will have a full review in a few days of the Adapter and the build quality, and how well it works with my large card.
I am glad that it works well.
dсplaya not everyone works, it's a problem with the driver.
All I have to say is THANK YOU FOR DREAMSHELL! If it wasn't for you, this would not be possible, so a BIG thank you for this Operating System! Wink

What ? What driver ? I started to assume it may be 32gb card bug .
Vasiliy, I have tested DCPlaya with a 2gb card before I ever got my 32gb working, so I can honestly say that it is no 32GB card bug. It just never sees any files on the card, I press SD, and the adapter lights up, just like it should when it is accessing files. The thing is though, that nothing happens, I press the A button and still nothing.
That's really strange, the only thing i can suggest at the moment is to ask the plugin's author .
Are you loading dcplaya from sd card or from cd-r ?

i've just retested dcplaya-2.0-beta2-sd-sdl and it works as it should to.

Alex have the same problem, so i made this conclusion.
I even have a guess why it happened.
So you think the ptoblem is the 32GB card? But it didn't work with my 2GB card either.
can be not all types SD kard approach?
The problem is not in the SD Card.
Well, I wrote up a review of the card today, and thought I should post it here for others to see.

Here is the packaging it comes in.

Ok, so the first thing I noticed when I was opening one of these, is the actual serial port connector has been fashoned with a peice of plastic to act as a spacer to keep the device firmly placed in the serial port. This is not a bad thing, and actualy looks quite nice if you ask me. You will never notice it when it is plugged in anyway.

I did order an orange one, to keep the NTSC theme going with my Dreamcast, but apperiantly the orange ones sold out first, as I did specify to them I wanted the orange one, but they gave me an email saying that option was not available.

So far, I have gotten retail games Gigawing and Mars Matrix working, the later of which had some stuttering issues duing the Capcom logo, but once in game it worked fluidly as expected with full audio.

As far as homebrew goes, in my experiance with Neo Geo CD games, it works great, Double Dragon was fine by me. Aes4all should be updated in the future to be more compatible with the SD cards and use them as ram for the carts, so arcade games MIGHT work full speed in the future, but as of now, the low ram the DC has has kept emulation very slow for that system.

Dcplaya2.0 was updated with a SD card plugin, so you can browse the media directly from the SD card, but this hasn't worked for me with either my 2gb or 32gb card, and could be a common bug, but it should get worked out in the future I hope.

In the future Dreamshell will get updated with more features that I can't elaborate on just yet, but I assure you it will be more than worth it, and time spent waiting on these to come to your house. Mine took a little over 2 months, and you can do what I did and get a 32gig card on Ebay for $42 and fill it up with all kinds of GDI, CDI and homebrew binaries. Wink
I can see from the pics how they are making these now. They are taking a SD to USB adapter and just tapping the traces on the circuit board with a dreamcast style serial plug. You can see the 'custom' soldering and the USB interface chip is still obviously, and unnecessarily, there. I'm wondering if this could be a potential source of your issues? Probably not... but just a thought.

I have had no trouble with DCplaya using an adapter constructed from swat's schematics. I can browse and play media from the card and save playlists to it. I've found the best way to play video to dcplaya is to stream it via the bba though. Stuff that plays fine over bba is choppy with SD card and you can tell from the read light that it is working very hard to try to keep up. Lower bitrate files will play fine, and mp3 should work well.
