Hi everyone!
I get this message every time I try to access the SD card with Dreamshell:
Can't init filesystem
I have however loaded succesfully the SD card before, I made the adapter my self from the popular tutorials you can find on the web.
So far this is what I have tried already:
I have connected the serial SD card reader to 3 different Dreamcasts with the same results:
Power on the console and instantly the LED on the card reader lights up (Weak light at this moment) the LED stays that way till the Dreamshell screen appears then it (The LED) emits a brighter light, flashes just 1 time and then never flashes again but stays brighter! at this moment the error message appears on screen Can't init filesystem
From what I have seen before when everything was working fine (On this same card reader) I know that the LED must flash a lot of times to access the SD card, this won´t happen now!
I've tried 4 different SD cards: Sd 1gb, sd 512mbs, sdhc 16gbs, sd 128mbs, these cards used to work fine with the DC card reader.
I'm using Dreamshell 4.0b I´ve tried both versions (From CD and from SD Card) wont load any card.
All the cards have been FAT32 formatted.
I've checked the serial connector I made attached it to the Dreamcast serial port to see if there is any shorted pins or any continuity related problems, checked pin by pin all passed, te connection between the DC serial port and the serial connector is stable.
I made 2 DC SD card readers to see if there was any problem with the first card reader I built, both card readers show the same behaviour.
All SD cards works fine on my PC, I might be wronge but I think SD cards are the sort of device that works or don't so as I stated before I don't think the cards are the problem.
Don't know what else to do, This adapter worked fine for a few days and suddenly won't load the SD card anymore!
Here are some pics of my DC SD card reader (And my aweful soldering job):
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.
/Marc
