I've been trying to load DreamShell 4.0 RC 2 but I can't get to the main menu when my SD reader is plugged in. Instead I get the following error -

DS_ERROR: Can't load module /sd/DS/apps/main/modules/app.klf
DS_ERROR: Can't load app 'Main' with id = 44
DS_ERROR: Can't open Main app

How can I fix this problem?

Boot from SD.

Yes I have DS files. Version 4.0.0 RC1 runs fine, but not RC2.

Your SD Card is Chinese? Redo all the wiring.

Why does it need to be re-wired??

I mean your initial boot. From GD-drive or you have BIOS mod?
Which the disc or the BIOS firmware you use?

I boot from GD-drive using disc 4.0 RC 2.

If I use 4.0 RC 1 it will boot and I can use DreamShell, but RC 2 has the error.

Seems the SD card is detected (because it's used as a path for resources), but can't be read data from it.
As aldair say, need redo all wiring.

Do all Chinese SD cards have this problem? Are they wired incorrectly? Or just a bad contact?

You have adapter with wires or as dongle to serial port?

It's strange, the problems can be with wired adapter, with dongle should not be...

Are the Chinese dongles need to do a review with new wires.

I use a MicroSD card with an adapter for SD size. I was having this same problem, intermittently, until I realized that the pins of the SD adapter were dirty. After cleaning, I'm having no more problems.

Some microSD->SD adapters have bad contact at microSD connection.
