What is the difference of these two bios files?

Is there any advantage of using the bios with syscalls over the nogdrom bios?

"nogdrom" BIOS need only if you removed GD-ROM completelly, because original BIOS hangs in this case.

I tried the nogdrom bios and there's a slight delay when booting but no big deal.

Also without a gdrom drive i get a problem with the sound. Is there a way to fix it without installing an active crystal?
