Hi guys , I've tried to instal gd Ide on my Dreamcast and I have an issue . Everything is solder ok , socket , points on gd Ide , ground , 5v from alternative point.Im using Ide to sata adapter with SATA SSD 260gb , adapter set to slave I've checked all points with multimeter , all ok , power on SATA adapter ok.Hdd formated fat32 32k cluster.Booting dreamshell from disk and hdd not recognised.Tried to boot dreamshell from SD adapter just to see if file manager see a hdd but nothing.Ive tried everything , please help

what is chipset in your SATA2IDE?

Have you tried with an ide drive ?

How long is your ground ?

hm, chipset is IC with a sticker "Q.C. PASSED"
remove this sticker and read what writed

do not have any ide hdd

what you meant ? maybe ive missed something with grn , ive just soldered a grn point on pcb

Your ground must be shorter as passible around 5cm and only pin 2.

@aldair : "whaouh" ^^ I advise to check your ground 2 in first.

This ide for sata needs to make the slave to work.
It does not have option to slave, need to do as in the picture below.

sorry guys didnt noticed that on a picture there is no jumper to set to slave , my adapter have a jumper and it is set to slave.Do i need to connect ground to adapter ? it is my first time wit dc modding

Check the 12 volt supply voltage. I have ide without this voltage going to pcb of the optical unit it does not recognize the IDE.

Ok guys , I bought dreamshell SD + cd dreamshell from eBay.After months I have realized that hdd was set to logical disk not primary . It is regonasible in dreamshell now in file manager . I have a full access to ide but I cannot boot dram shell from Ide , I have a system folder ds in root but I won't boot dreamshell until I connect SD serial adapter. Any help ?

Sorted !!! My boot cd was hacked ver. , I burned new cd and it is working great
