Hi: I am having issues with my 160Gb Ide HDD 24% fragmented:
The disk is almost no longer bootin Dreamshell (Black screen message "ATA devices...press start to boot" (I press start but nothing)
When it boots DS: the HDD freezes at booting or at running a game or during a game, and in some games appears message "trak 05 fragmented..."
So i thought it is too fragmented. So I tried to defragment it with "Defraggler" but in the middle of the operation freezes too. So I tried to find and correct errors and sectors, with Win 7 tool (Right Click at the disk) but it does not end the operation too!.

Results from 24% defragmentation :
21% fragmentation (defragmenting 3%........I stopped the proccess 2 times, the first one after a period of 10 hours because it does not advance from 3%)
ALTHOUGH SOME GAMES WORKS NOW (NBA 2K,NBA 2K2) BUT I SMELL SOMETHING BAD,... THE HDD SHOULD BE REPLACED OR IS NORMAL THESE RESULTS?
COULD THE DISK BE NEXT TO STOP WORKING AND LOOSE ALL GAMES IN IT ? !

Yes, It smelled something bad, the HDD make some metallic noises at starting and at Powering Off DC, finally I could access the Hdd data with "HDD Regenerator" and fortunately I could back up all games!!! Now trying with another 160Gb Ide...
