DC Serial to LAN Adapter question - uglybuddy6 - 27.02.2012 01:07
Ok so i saw the the Serial to LAN Adapter here and was wondering does this work with dreamshell? If it does could we use dreamshell as a boot disk so then say Qauke 3 or Phantasy Star Online would work with the adapter? If not how could one mod an online game to work with the adapter?

Does it work with current version of Dreamshell?
Does it work with commercial games?
How much faster than SD adapter it is?
Do you removed some resistors or capacitors?
Is there a goldpin with blue plastic, what is it for?
Could you take a photo from both side of universal board?
Or could you create an easy tutorial how to make such device with universal board?
Does it use SAMBA protocol?
Could you make some youtube videos showing this device in action?

1. Driver exists, but it needed some testing and fixes, you can try use it.

I saw that there is an internet option in RC1 Dreamshell...Its DNS..
So do you plan to make it work with the Dc serial lan?

Will you make it work with both Dc serail Lan and Broadband adapter?Or you have to write other code to work with the BBA?
Do you plan to make to make it chatting and sending data between Dreamshel users?
this is how imaging the Dreamshell (about the Rc1).But it can always be better

I am writing a network interface for KOS, so it will work as BBA / LAN adapter.
Maybe I'll do, and chat and data transfer.

Very cool stuff. I suspect it might just have to get supported by NetBSD/dreamcast too...
(But first need to get a NetBSD driver for the Serial-SD card - waiting for an adaptor to arrive now
