None of the optimized GDIs I've tried have worked with CDDA. I mean they work but have no music. Vanishing Point and ChuChu Rocket! are good examples. The CDDA music works fine with regular GDIs but not with optimized ones.

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - dragoncity - 20.05.2017 02:43

So I say again Cdda works,so music works for me in OPT :-)

sd or ide?

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - dragoncity - 20.05.2017 13:23

Give me game in OPT with CDDA where you have "no music".

Because I tested this morning, and I have music in :

- 4*4 Evolution (SSD) : Maybe just in the menu...
- Sega Rally 2 (SSD)
- Chuchu Rocket (SD)
- Worms Armageddon (SSD)
- Millenium Racer - Y2K Fighters (SSD)
track 04.wav for the menu ^^
And track07.wav for the first race Big Grin

For test (just listening music on my computer) I convert *.raw in*.wav

This is my script

Just copy this in bloc note, and rename in 1.bat for exemple.
And Copy this file and the folder sys (ISO Make pack v2.4) in the folder game.

Цитата:@Echo off
echo "Convertir Raw en Wav by DragonCity"
SET PATH=sys
For %%1 in (*.raw) do (
echo %%1
raw2wav.exe "%%1" "%%1.wav" 2 44100 16
)
del /s *.raw
Rename *.wav *.
Rename *.raw *.wav
echo "Tout est OK!"
pause

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - pcwzrd13 - 20.05.2017 16:56

Thanks! I figured it out! I didn't realize the music was contained within the *.raw files. The tutorial I was following to optimize the GDIs told me to delete them.

LoL ! Yes CDDA it's raw files Smile So if you delete it's sure you don't have music Smile

I made a script if you want, for convert all your GDI in OPT.

Batch Optimize GDI (By DragonCity)

Put all folder GDI and my script in the same folder.

Launch "Batch Optimize GDI.bat" and They will all be converted Smile

1 click,easy Smile

That's cool but all my GDIs are already optimized. I just need to copy the *.raw files back to the CDDA games.

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - SWAT - 21.05.2017 06:36

Optimization just convert data tracks .bin to .iso and don't touch raw files...

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - fafadou - 22.05.2017 03:51

So for having audio in optimized, you have to convert your .raw in .wav ? If I understand well.

With 4*4 evo, I have no music during the race in opt mode.
I have music with millenium in .gdi and no in opt...

I'm curious to try with sega rally in opt because it doesn't work in gdi on my system... (cdda config only there is other thing to do ?)

Dragon, you can add in your list :
For ecco -> cdda there is one track
shadow man -> cdda there is one track too but I'm not sure it's a real track or just a warning : "this is a dreamcast disk..." like in grandia II.
snow surfer -> cdi ok with cdda, I have built it and add it in the isozone.

Thanks for your answer megavolt.

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - SWAT - 22.05.2017 10:27

Don't touch RAW files in any case Smile)) It's not optimizable in general. Only data tracks being optimized.

Convert PCM->ADPCM recommended (not required) only for SD (for HDD it's not need it at all) and before convert need add wav headers for raw files, so it's raw2wav do.

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - fafadou - 22.05.2017 11:06

ok thanks swat :-)

I check if I have the cdda tracks in my optimized cdda games. Maybe I have the same problem than pcwzrd13.

Dragon, you can add in your list :
For ecco -> cdda there is one track

> LoL track02.raw it's just the music when you put your DISC on your Audio CD player,to say it's not good ^^
If you have MANY tracks ok use CDDA.

shadow man -> cdda there is one track too but I'm not sure it's a real track or just a warning : "this is a dreamcast disk..." like in grandia II.
> Like ecco.

snow surfer -> cdi ok with cdda, I have built it and add it in the isozone.
> I use already CDDA on my list,but the sound crash a little..but it's ok !
Use the release "Japanese_Cake" for have VGA Smile and the config in my list Wink

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - fafadou - 22.05.2017 13:34

No I'm sure, for ecco the track04.raw is a real cdda I was the first supprised.

shadowman I checked, you have right no cdda the track04.raw is the warning like grandia II and a lot of games that have a track04.raw only.

I optimize sega rally and I run it again thanks :-)

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - dragoncity - 22.05.2017 14:15

For ecco there is a song "track04" for 51s,so I listen in *wav",it's maybe the menu I think Smile

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - pcwzrd13 - 25.05.2017 01:00

I've now tested almost the full US library of games. I just have 38 more to go. I recorded all my results in the compatibility list in my signature. I should have it completed in a day or two. Once I've tested all of them, I'll go back and do more thorough testing on the ones that didn't work (I only tested the most common settings for most games).

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - Gillbert - 25.05.2017 02:18

@pcwzrd13:

Which region is the Dreamcast you are using for testing?

It's worth to mention the console region in your compatibility list because there are some games which may work only in a specific console region, example "Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare" only works on a NTSC/U console region. There are other situations where one NTSC game doesn't work but a PAL one does (can't remember now but from my record "Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2" is an example) and vice-versa.

Also, is your list only meant for GDI dumps? I'm asking because there are few games which doesn't work in GDI format but does in CDI or ISO form.

I also have my own compatibility list, but I'm not in home now to check.

RE: Dreamcast GDI Compatibility List - pcwzrd13 - 25.05.2017 02:29

I'm using an NTSC-U console but I have a region-free BIOS. In my experience, the region of the image hasn't made any difference.

The type of image is mentioned in the list. Most are optimized GDIs. I've tried CDIs of a few games that didn't work but much like the region, it didn't make any difference. Optimized GDIs consistently work for me (with the games that are know to work).
