BIOS question. - EFX - 13.05.2015 02:56
Hi,
I have successfully soldered (piggyback) and flashed my new Bios using Dreamshell RC3.
I wrote the Link83 Bios 1.0
Is there a bios that automatically boot on SD without the Dreamshell CD ?
With the Link83's Bios I tried to change the region of my DC, but it doesn't write the change. Any hint ?

Thanks for the quick answer.
I have written with that bios but my screen is not centered anymore.
Any idea ? doesn't happen with the original Bios and when I boot Dreamshell from the CD/SD. Picture attached.

write in console
vmode -m -d 4
if doesn't help, write in console
vmode -m -d 6
write what of methods helped

If a keyboard is needed, I don't have one.
I have flashed "SD LOADER WITH.BIOS" it doesn't have this issue.
Is there a page with the BIOS description ?

1/ I did the R512 mod and now I can write the changes.
2/ as the screen is down I'm not going to see what I type. Anyway, I'm going to try in "blind mod"

vmode -m -d 4 (NTSC) worked for me
vmode -m -d 6 (PAL) let the screen in the same state that it is in the picture attached.
BTW my console and monitor is PAL.
Possible to have pal with the screen centered ?
If it's not possible, how to save ? thanks

REGION CHANGE:
--------------------
- Doesn't write changes with DS_CORE.BIOS
- write changes with SD LOADER WITH.BIOS
SDISOS/CUSTOM BIOS

Most of SDISOS games doesn't work with both BIOS (DS_CORE.BIOS, SD LOADER WITH.BIOS) but works great with "Original Bios" + BootCD.

Flash BIOS from this topic and replace on SD card DS_CORE.BIN. With this bios games work how with "Original Bios" + BootCD.

DS_CORE.BIOS doesn't have flashrom syscalls so any flashrom operations is ignored.

Is the boot_loader_unlock_G1.bios region free?

DreamShell is region free in general. Boot loader doesn't boot the games, only DreamShell, so it's doesn't matter.
