I found out something very interesting today. Apparently the same PSO bugs that are occurring in DreamShell, also happened with version 1.0 of BlueCrab's Sylverant PSO Patcher. As you can see in the changelog though, they were fixed in version 1.1:

Цитата:What has changed in v1.1?
-------------------------
In a nutshell, v1.0 was very buggy. In fact, I'm somewhat surprised that we
didn't see the bugs in testing it initially. For that, I apologize. Version 1.1
fixes the following bugs:

1. PSO shows only a black screen when connected via a VGA box.
2. Various in-game bugs are exhibited, such as being able to walk through the
pillar in the Hunter's Guild and techniques not targeting properly.

The first bug, I'd consider somewhat minor. The second one though is plain bad.
They're both fixed in v1.1 though.

I've emailed BlueCrab to see if he can tell me exactly what he did to fix the bugs.

Edit: BlueCrab said he doesn't remember what changed between 1.0 and 1.1 but I found the source code for both here. If you compare the two, you might be able to find the fix.

Here's some general info from BlueCrab:

Цитата:Basically, PSO doesn't like some of the stuff that KOS and other Dreamcast libraries do with the hardware -- some register setting made or something like that must conflict with the state that PSO is expecting (or it could quite possibly just be some form of cheat protection in the game). I never sat down and spent the time to completely figure out exactly what was causing it

I've noticed in the patches for Phantasy Star Online Ver 2 it specifies Version 1.000 but my NTSC-U disc reports as V1.004. Address 12D111D0 02621942 is indeed located in track 3 but 16515F23 64FF6DE0 is entirely absent. The added BIOS Protection must be located elsewhere. The addresses are correct for the PAL version.

Edit: TOSEC database identifies this version as: Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 v1.004 (2001)(Sega)(NTSC)(US)(M5)[!][2S 51193][req. serial]

There is a bug I noticed in Carrier. it was also in the old loader, if I remember correctly. After some time of playing the reading speed form the HDD drops significantly. Every new location or scripted sequence may load for a few minutes if load at all. even the VMU display freezes in that period. does anybode experienced that?

I finished this game without problem.

Just use OPT and NOT GDI.

I use an SSD..with some IDE hard disk there is problem so be careful, like lag with some game etc...

Hi with this new loader is Shenmue II fully playable from start to finish? With previous one I had to burn a cd for entering warehouse 8 on second disk and another one for last disk to pass shenmue tree. Or this is another timing issue that isn't already addressed?

RE: ISO Loader 0.7.x Beta - MilkeyWilkey - 11.03.2019 15:48

Opt pal and us versions. System reboot resolves the issue but it can be frustrating at times

it will not help
BlueCrab of the rights, KOS makes too many changes, it is necessary to recustomize completely all equipment before start of a game

Do you think this can be done with the current loader or would you need to make an entirely new one?

RE: ISO Loader 0.7.x Beta - megavolt85 - 12.03.2019 17:21

it's possible in current loader
the preloader will be engaged in setup of hardware

RE: ISO Loader 0.7.x Beta - pcwzrd13 - 12.03.2019 22:19

The Internet Game Pack that was leaked yesterday works perfectly on 0.7.x. :-) Unsurprisingly it doesn't boot on 0.6.x, just like all the other Visual Concepts games.

RE: ISO Loader 0.7.x Beta - fafadou - 13.03.2019 08:22

You already try it :-)
What do you think about ?

The 0.7.x is incredible good before an update that will be even better.

RE: ISO Loader 0.7.x Beta - Lisko - 13.03.2019 14:23

Yes this loader has an amazing boot rate! Congratulations megavolt! Just for my curiosity what technically changes from high level to low level emulation? Also in my ntsc-j attached with scart rgb I encounter a strange behavior: whenever I start a game with this new loader the image becomes shifted down of about 1/5 and can't see the bottom part. However if the game shows a prompt for 50/60hz and I select 60 the image returns normal. If I boot an ntsc game that should be natively 60 without prompts it still show up shifted... Not sure why but it doesn't happen with old HLE loaders or if I boot the disc through native bios. Any advice? Thank you and keep up!

It's seems cool. It's multiplayer-only so I haven't played much of it yet. Plus I don't know how to play most of the games. lol

Whenever you release a new version do you replace the file in the first post with the latest one?

Do formatting and copy all images by one action. If you delete some and add new, these files can be fragmented.

What about managed HDD with a special format or a special tool?something like the wfbs manage for wii.

or just add dummy file to keep gdi in save size.If the have the same size, then delete & add new may not caused much fragmented.
