I can launch "Sturmwind" with last DS and in IDE



But block at this screen,so how to fix that ?

Sturmwind have few protections, in your image disabled only first protection in IP.BIN
need hack binary for disable all protections

Yes ! Works in emulator and backup so there is a solution for fix that in Dreamshell

Ps : some people say works in Rc3...

Yes!!! effectively this game work on RC3 but without CDDA.
The Demo work on RC4 from SD.

So I tested.

DS4 RC3 : Boot only in SD but no sound CDDA.

DS4 RC4 : Boot SD and IDE,but block at this error.

Maybe possible to fix that

It may change something if the game is repack to cdi to gdi or gdi opt?

But i don't know how could I proceed?


it's possibly the same issue for a game like geist force release only in cdi ? and others ?...
it had works with half life because it's a win ce game so probably the format is important. If I remeber well it had worked for agartha demo doesn't work in cdi but ok in iso format.

@megavolt how have you removed the protection with the rc3 ? It's possible to do an update for rc4 easily or hacking the ip.bin but how and where in the file?

Hi, I like thi game too and I tried to make it work without success. I only found it in CDI and ISO make 2.4 does not convert it to ISO, Did you make it work in CDI format?
Last, I tried in Dreamshell RC3 with HDD but the system does not boot!

Replace EC745FA0

And the best thing to do is to repack it in gdi and opt

I don't remember the settings ^^
probably 0.6.1_gcc_7.1 loader, OS homebrew smaller memory no cdda.

Deserve an optimize version and some test on 0.7.x loader.
If doesn't boot :
Try the patch for hdd :
Find E4745FA0
Replace EC745FA0
If still doesn't boot :
If it doesn't work unpack it descramble the 1ST_READ.BIN

This gdi must be polish for sure.

Hi, I have optimized the GDI and tested it but it does not work (Strange screen with error message surrounded by red rectangle).
Then I tried to open it in GD-ROM Explorer but it does not open it.
Am I using a wrong software?

No it's the same issue as we know. but it means the build is probably good.

Have you try the 0.7.x versions ?
beta 1 and beta 3 ?

Hi, I have tried to make it work optimized with DragonCity's RetroDream, it is not working with any of the 7x beta loaders (8,9,10), it appears the same screen to wipe the disc (?),
it could be possible the original Gd-Rom was dirty at the moment of the copying it?
Or better try in the original Dreamshell 7.0x...

if I remember well, this game run only with dreamshell RC3, maybe we'll have a good surprise like @chth96 with virtua striker 2.
The cdda doesn't work for sure.
this game have some issue with gdemu clone and original, when I played, I have crashes...

I'm sorry that It is also totally impossible for me to run RC3 loader 0.5.0 in dreamshell RC4 or retrodream....
As I'm not good at English,So I think my poor English writting would cause you misunderstand that I'm able to run iso loader 0.5.0 in Dreamshell RC4 in order to play Virtua strike2 us version.

I could make it boot this GDI opt.version boots from IP.BIN but game starts and shows a different message about VMU, but finally does.not show title screen, I suspect some Hex code or protection...

The game is well protected.
The issue would be to have the good speed or else avoid the protection like ooga booga version made by echelon else @megavolt85 had remove the protections for pier Solar, it looks there are very close.
