Sega Dreamcast mod: Custom bios with switch, Overclock, IDE HDD, and SD - Rellikami - 16.06.2018 20:02
I had started on this months ago and just recently had time to finish one up, i have 1 more VA1 console and a VA0 i plan on doing these mods to.

I decided against doing a internal VGA or sound jack mod because space is a premium and finding what i would call a good place to put it without a psu mod is a pain, and the cables are cheap as chips as of recent.
I have this one done even put a new battery and reset-able fuse on the controller board. I only plan to open it up once more because i want to ad a reset button.
I did start on the va0 probably the one i will keep and not sell, i know 3v flash isn't supposed to play well with them, though I wired it up to get power from 3v and it seems to work fine flashes and boots with no issues.

No picture of overclock, we I see your weldings, I imagine it was a huge battle.
The va0 have a different system cooler for sh4 and pvr ?

i have done some horrible things to the internals of other gaming devices.

I removed the resistor on the bottom (r331) instead of lifting the pin on the chip. it is much easier to solder to and less risk of breaking a pin.

The VA0 has a single blower cooler for both heat sinks with a metal fan and heatpipes, i may try and push past 240Mhz ( maybe 270Mhz?) when i get a chance to work more on it. need to order different oscillators and copper shims the appropriate thickness to replace the cooling pads also might add some extra fans.
I have some decent Va0 pictures for who may want to see the overall internals.

How have you overclock the SH4 finally remove the jumper R331 or the lift the pin of IC305 ?

I used the jumper, if I ever wanted to undo it i can just remove it and bridge the juper back.
The jumper is much more safe than lifting the pin.
