Need help with MAME4ALL & AES4ALL for Dreamshell RC4. (edited for guidance on mame)

Okay, so I downloaded Chui's aes4all and mame4all.

I placed both the "normal" folder from aes4all and the mame4all folder at the root of my DS directory, launched their bin files separately using File Manager, and all I got was a bunch of error messages then a blank screen.

For Mame I tried again downloading the MAME4All_DS-Icon.7z from theisozone which put a nice looking icon in my DS menu. The problem is it won't play, I'm sure the reason why is because it's RC1.

I considered making a separate topic asking for mame4all help but that just felt redundant. So instead I'm merging it with this topic for the sake of simplicity. How do I get both these emulators to be recognized on Dreamshell RC4? Were these even made to run on RC4 using IDE HDD?
