Permanent Dreamcast

It is my goal to have a permanent Dreamcast. Any suggestions on this topic will be appreciated. After all, if it ends up really being Sega's last system I want to make mine lasts as long as possible. The most direct and versatile way for me is to have the bios mod, and an SD loader from China. Just so I got it straight, If I do the Bios mod, can I install Dreamshell permanently? Will it load even after the GD rom drive stops working? When a new version comes out, can I install that? Thanks for all your help.

Currently DreamShell can be flashed in a modified bios, but unfortunately after the launch of the bios, games will not run. Solving the problem while has not been found. But in any case, flashed dreamshell in the BIOS, save you from death in the future of the console. If breaks the gd-rom.

I am not sure I understand. Once I flash Dreamshell in the bios, will it play iso games from the sd card?
